Punter Southall Aspire financial planning achieves Chartered status

Has your financial adviser publicly pledged to put your interests first?

We all seek reassurance and lean on trusted friends and contacts when times are challenging.

In many areas of our lives, we rely on people who know more than we do about certain specialised tasks.

If our boiler breaks down, a car needs a service or an extension needs building, tackling- and succeeding – at all these without outside assistance would be a feat at which not many of us could succeed.

So we ask people we know and trust to do it for us. And if we don’t know them personally, we check their credentials, qualifications, references and the like. Especially when something is important, fundamental, even, to your life. I’d argue being able to heat your home is one of those fundamentals.

    Achieving Chartered financial planning status

I wanted to make this broader point by way of marking Chartered financial planning status for Punter Southall Aspire’s financial planning service. It’s been confirmed that the business can now be classified at a level for which only 14 per cent of some 5,000 financial advisory firms qualify.

We think it’s an achievement worth highlighting, given the hard work above and beyond the day job, which it requires. Not only that but Aspire has been in existence for six years and, within that period, has acquired and incorporated three separate financial planning businesses, which makes it even more noteworthy, given the timeframe.

Indeed, in the words of the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII), which confers this distinction, it says it is given to those practitioners and companies which “display eminence in their field” and adds:

Why choose a Chartered financial planner

“By choosing Chartered, you are choosing a financial planner who has made a public commitment to professionalism. They must maintain standards of excellence in qualifications, ethics, business practices and professional development. The CII sets the bar, a firm meets it.”

And we’re delighted Punter Southall Aspire has acceded to this level. How we plan our finances has to count as one of life’s most important, complex and specialised tasks and, for many, guidance is appreciated.

If nothing else, being Chartered is the attainment of an objective, professional standard which demonstrates the calibre of our people and their willingness to go above and beyond on behalf of their clients.

This is, I believe, a spirit which has been instrumental to the growth and continuing evolution of not only Punter Southall Aspire but Punter Southall and a motif for how we move forward in changing conditions and markets.

How we plan our finances has to count as one of life’s most important, complex and specialised tasks and, for many, guidance is appreciated.
