Adam graduated from Durham University in 1993, with a degree in Mathematics. He has worked exclusively in actuarial and pensions consultancy since graduating, becoming a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2001.
Before joining Punter Southall, he spent five years working for a large pensions consultancy. He became a Principal of the firm in 2003. Throughout his career he has been involved in all aspects of pensions consultancy and actuarial work.
Adam currently holds a Scheme Actuary certificate and the majority of his work is as a trustee adviser. However, he has also given corporate advice on the management and mitigation of pension risk and been a third party expert to a number of negotiated union pension settlements arising from the transfer of employees between businesses.
He has a particular interest in the “plain English” communication of pension issues at a member level – as a newly qualified actuary he became an Assistant Examiner for the Institute of Actuaries and marked the examination on Communications.
Adam is on the Public Relations and Marketing Group of Punter Southall and provides written and oral comment to the press as well as speaking at industry conferences.
Away from work, Adam is a keen golfer and cook but any free time at the moment is taken up by learning how to be a Dad – his first child having been born in October.
