7 June 2007, Punter Southall announces the return of Danny Vassiliades and the further expansion of the team with the appointment of Richard Thomas

Punter Southall, the consulting actuarial firm, today announces the return of Danny Vassiliades following his sixteen-month period at Mercer Human Resources Consulting and the further appointment of Richard Thomas as Principal and Administration Director to join the team at the London office. Joining the firm in June 2007, both these Principals will report to John Batting, Chief Executive of Punter Southall.

Mr Vassiliades, who was a Principal of the multinational investment advisory business at Mercer since January 2006, has returned to Punter Southall as Principal to enjoy a more “hands-on” actuarial and business development role. Danny is a qualified actuary with over 17 years’ experience in pension fund consulting, having joined Punter Southall in 1997 from Watson Wyatt, where he had been an actuary for eight years.

In addition to Mr Vassiliades’ return, Punter Southall has also appointed Richard Thomas as Principal and Administration Director, with a remit to direct, build and develop Punter Southall’s pensions administration business.

Mr Thomas has over 17 years’ management and directorial experience in professional services. He has spent seven years in HM Treasury and, most recently, five years as Partner and Managing Director of employee benefits services at Lane Clark and Peacock. In this role he specifically covered administration, risk benefits and benefits consultancy issues.
