Senior Adviser – Punter Southall
Guest Speaker: Lawrence Churchill
Chairman of the Pension Protection Fund
The Pension Protection Fund (PPF) has rarely been out of the news in the eighteen months since it
came into existence in April 2005. Recent headlines have announced the publication of its investment
strategy, the arrival of this year’s levy invoices and proposals for the shape of next year’s levy. The
decisions made by the PPF have significant impacts on trustees and employers – both because of the
immediate cost of the levy and also because of wider influences on company and trustee behaviour.
We are therefore delighted to welcome Lawrence Churchill, the Chairman of the Pension Protection
Fund, to deliver the third Punter Southall lecture on ‘Developing the Protection Agenda’ in which he
will reflect on the PPF’s progress to date and the challenges it faces in the future.
