Age Discrimination Round Tables
Monday 6th & Monday 13th November 2006
Venue: Punter Southall London office, 126 Jermyn Street, London, SW1Y 4UJ
Following considerable pressure from lawyers, industry professionals, trustees and employers, the Government agreed to delay the implementation of the pensions aspects of the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 until 1 December 2006. During this two month delay, the DWP will be consulting on amendments to the exemptions set out in legislation and on further guidance. We have now seen some draft amending regulations and are expecting to see revised guidance any day now.
Clearly, it is important for trustees and employers to use this brief delay to understand any amendments to the legislation and to make the appropriate changes to their pension schemes. In order to assist you in this decision-making process, Punter Southall will be running lunchtime round-tables in our newly refurbished Jermyn Street offices on Monday 6 November and Monday 13 November from 12.30 to 2 pm.
At each round-table there will be short presentations summarising the implications of the legislation from a Punter Southall expert and a pensions lawyer. Following these presentations, there will be ample opportunity for questions and discussion over a buffet lunch.
